Bucks County Historical Society Welcomes New VP Of Advancement

The former historical society trustee will support the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle's mission-driven initiatives.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Historical Society has named a new Vice President of Advancement, who will take the post beginning Monday.

Heather Cevasco, who has served as a member of the historical society's board of trustees, will provide leadership to support mission-driven initiatives. She will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts and grants in the advancement office to achieve the museum's goals.

“Heather’s breadth of experience in the corporate, government and non-profit sectors will be a major asset to the Bucks County Historical Society, and will allow [our organization] to continue to grow and fulfill our mission and serve our community in a meaningful way," president and executive director Kyle McKoy said.

Cevasco worked in the public sector for two decades, first serving as District Director for State Representative Chuck McIlhinney and then progressing to become his Chief of Staff as he moved to the State Senate.

In these roles, she oversaw a constituent community outreach and services operation that kept her involved with Bucks County organizations and residents.

Cevasco then worked in the healthcare industry, serving as Director of Community and Government Affairs for Doylestown Health.

“I am excited to take on this new role and continue the efforts I have made to promote BCHS over the past decade as a volunteer and as an active member of the Board of Trustees," Cevasco said. "To be part of such a wonderful group of committed volunteers, staff, and Board members who are all focused on the bright future of this organization, is an honor. I look forward to utilizing my background and the community connections I have made over the years to help bring BCHS to the forefront and increase our fundraising efforts, partnerships and collaboration in the community.”

In her role as president of the board, Cevasco helped provide the organization with sound governance, strategic oversight, and direction, along with supporting and organizing fundraising events to support the Mercer Museum and promote education programs for Fonthill Castle.

“The Trustees of the Bucks County Historical Society are very excited to support Heather Cevasco as she transitions from the Board to a full-time staff member as Vice President of Advancement," said Linda Hodgdon, incoming Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Bucks County Historical Society. "Heather will be a tremendous asset in her new position and I am honored to follow her very capable presidency of the Board of Trustees and look forward to an exciting year ahead."

Cevasco also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lenape Valley Foundation from 1999 to 2009, and was honored in 2002 as a recipient of the Lenape Valley Foundation President’s Award.

In 2014, Cevasco received the Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2014, which recognized some of the community’s most dynamic individuals. In 2015, she proudly received the Ted Lindeman Outreach Foundation Humanitarian Award for her service in the community.

Her other board and commission memberships through the years include the Bucks County Bar Foundation Board, Greater Bucks Mont Chamber of Commerce, Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, Bucks County Playhouse Artists, Network of Victims Assistance, Bucks County Emergency Health Council, Bucks County Local Emergency Planning Committee, Children’s Cultural Center of Bucks County and Soroptimist International of Bucks County.

She lives in Plumstead Township with her husband, John.
