Bucks County Special Equestrians Win $200K True Inspiration Award

The award from Chick-Fil-A will reduce wait times and provide timely access to life-changing equine-assisted therapy.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Special Equestrians Therapeutic Riding Center in Warrington has been awarded a $200,000 True Inspiration Award from Chick-fil-A.

According to the Warrington-based nonprofit, the contribution will help the organization reduce wait times for its services and expand its programs to serve more individuals in need of life-changing equine-assisted services in the community.

Special Equestrians is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals with disabilities through the equine experience.

Chick-Fil-A presents a check for $200,000 to the Bucks County Special Equestrians.

“We are deeply honored and grateful to receive this support from Chick-fil-A,” said Janice Witt, executive director of Special Equestrians. “This grant will allow us to expedite access to our life-changing programs by allowing us to move people off our waitlist and expand on the programs we offer. Chick-fil-A’s commitment to investing in community-based organizations like ours is truly inspiring, and we are excited to see the positive impact this partnership will have on the lives of so many.”

The funding will be used for several key initiatives, including:

  • Expanding Program Capacity. With additional resources, Special Equestrians will be able to serve more individuals, including those on waiting lists, and offer expanded program hours to accommodate growing demand.
  • Financial Assistance. A portion of the funding will go toward providing affordable low-cost services for families who may otherwise be unable to afford it, ensuring that all individuals have the opportunity to benefit from equine-assisted therapies.

“We were super excited to have the honor and opportunity to present Special Equestrians with this Chick-fil-A Award grant,” said Josh McGrory, the owner/operator of Chick-fil-A Warrington Crossing and Warminster. “We love to connect and support organizations like Special Equestrians that are doing such great work within our communities."

Special Equestrians is a non-profit organization that offers equine-assisted therapy and activities to individuals with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. Through therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted services, Special Equestrians provides a unique and effective approach to improving the lives of people of all ages. The organization serves individuals with a variety of challenges, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, development disability, ADHD, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, and brain injuries, helping them build confidence, improve mobility, enhance self-awareness and social skills, and foster emotional well-being.
