Car Stop Leads To Drug And Theft Charges In Warrington

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bensalem woman is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop uncovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Warrington Police stopped a vehicle near Easton and Street Roads in October for multiple motor vehicle violations.
During the stop, officers spoke with the passenger, a 44-year-old woman from Bensalem, who provided various spellings of her name. Officers observed drug paraphernalia in the area where the woman had been sitting.

Central Bucks Regional Police responded with K9 Odie, who alerted officers to the presence of narcotics, police said. The vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was obtained, uncovering narcotics and additional drug paraphernalia.
Police said a further investigation determined that before the traffic stop, the woman had stolen $123.24 worth of merchandise from Wegmans.

On Nov. 17, a preliminary hearing was held, during which the woman waived the hearing to proceed to Common Pleas Court, where she will answer to charges of providing false identification to police, retail theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
