Carve 52 Brings Philly-Style Sandwiches To Doylestown
The borough eatery on East State Street is now serving hot or cold roast beef, pork, and turkey sandwiches.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Bobby Simone has opened his newest culinary venture at the site of his former Bobby Simone’s restaurant at 52 East State Street.
Tucked down a side pedestrian alley just feet from State Street and across from Frost Lounge, Carve 52 is now serving fresh off-the-bone roast beef, pork, and turkey sandwiches brimming with meat and topped with long hots, broccoli rabe, cheese, arugula, and other favorite toppings.
The sandwiches are served hot or cold on fresh rolls made locally and baked especially for Carve 52.

Simone said it took five months to find the right rolls and about six months to find the right meats for his sandwich shop.
“The people we get our meat from butcher the meat themselves,” he said. “They are all first-quality.
“Everything is fresh off the bone,” adds Simone. “No luncheon meats. Everything we sell is made fresh. So please come in and fill your belly.”
The new lunch spot at the former site of Rakki Ramen can seat up to 60 people and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“I’m a sandwich guy and I come from Northeast Philadelphia, where sandwiches are a big thing,” said Simone when asked why a sandwich shop. “If you gave me a choice of eating a filet mignon or a sandwich, I’d take the sandwich. I just love sandwiches.
“Try one of our sandwiches and you’re going be a lifelong sandwich buyer," he said.
Complementing the sandwiches is a choice of soups, including lentil, beef barley and escarole. Other add-ons include cole slaw and macaroni salad.
For now, the sandwich choice is limited to the three meats and your choice of toppings, but Simone said they will be introducing new sandwiches sometime in the future, including a cold hoagie.
Also coming soon will be fresh Italian Gelato.
“Come on in and try us. But more importantly, come on in and be our friend,” said Simone.
