The Central Bucks School District is "closely monitoring" the CDC's recommendations surrounding COVID-19, officials said.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School District is "closely monitoring" the CDC's recommendations surrounding COVID-19, the new coronavirus, Superintendent John Kopicki said in a letter to the school community Thursday.
"We have received inquiries about the matter and how our school district plans to address the current situation," the letter said.

Kopicki said the district is closely monitoring the CDC’s recommendations, as well as those from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Bucks County Health Department.
"At this time, the best advice is to practice the same common-sense preventative measures that are recommended every cold and flu season, including proper hand washing and staying home when sick," Kopicki said in the letter.

As more information becomes available, the district will share it on the website, Kopicki said.
"Our response and planning will be in accordance with federal, state, and local health experts, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Education," the superintendent's letter said.
Earlier this week, Pennsylvania state health officials said they are preparing after the CDC issued a warning that communities across the nation should prepare now for the spread of coronavirus.
To date, no one in Pennsylvania has tested positive for COVID-19.
