Central Bucks Cancels Events, Sports Through April 14

All after school and evening activities in the district will be cancelled until April 14 to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Central Bucks School District on Thursday announced measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Effective immediately, all after school and evening activities in the district will be canceled until April 14. All district facilities will be closed each weekend beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.

The Central Bucks School District is also postponing all spring athletics effective immediately and through at least April 14. At that time, a reevaluation of the community health environment will be assessed, school officials said in an announcement to the community.

Canceled activities include all off-site home and school and PTO events, and banquets.

Many area schools have taken similar measures as the virus continues to spread in the region.

Nearby in Montgomery County, which has more than a dozen cases, the governor has ordered all schools be closed for two weeks.
