DOYLESTOWN, PA — Middle and high school students in Central Bucks School District will have the option of returning to school five days a week after the district announced it would eliminate the hybrid option for secondary students.

Beginning on Monday, Feb. 22, students will be placed in five-day in-person instruction or five-day virtual learning depending on their choice.

All prevention measures and protocols within the district's health and safety plan will remain in place. Students and staff will still be required to wear masks on school grounds at all times, and desks will be spaced at a minimum feet of three feet apart and "more wherever possible," Superintendent John Kopicki said. Students will be asked to maintain six feet of social distancing at all other times, including during wellness breaks when students can have food and drinks.

"When students return to school, teachers and principals will reinforce these procedures and explain new ones so that students may be confident and comfortable with what is expected of them," Kopicki said. "As we continue to meet the challenges of this pandemic, we are grateful for the patience and support of our students and families."

Bucks County's largest school district has operated on a hybrid schedule at the secondary level and on a full-time in-person schedule at the elementary level since Nov. 17, with the exception of students who are enrolled in virtual-only learning.
