DOYLESTOWN, PA — Three public forums will be held this week in the Central Bucks School District to gather input from the community and district stakeholders on what they'd like to see in their next superintendent.

The three identical sessions begin tonight at the Central Bucks High School East cafeteria in Buckingham followed by forums on Tuesday in the cafeteria at Central Bucks South in Warrington and on Wednesday in the cafeteria at Central Bucks West in Doylestown. All three forums will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.

In addition to the public forums, the district's stakeholders - students, parents, teachers, district employees, and taxpayers - are encouraged to take part in an engagement survey, which will remain open through Jan. 16 by clicking this link. A summary of the results will be shared with the community when the results are compiled.

Both the electronic survey and in-person focus groups will be centered on the following two questions: What qualities, characteristics, and experiences would you like to see in Central Bucks School District’s next superintendent? And what main priorities should be addressed by the new superintendent in their first year?"

The survey and the forum are being conducted by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, which was retained by the school board in November to assist with the search process.

The district posted the job opening regionally, statewide and nationally on Dec. 22 with applications due by 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Under a timeline released by the IU, the school board expects to identify candidates for interviews in late January, with initial interviews in early February. The board’s goal is to name a new uperintendent in the spring of 2026, the IU said.

The Bucks IU is supporting the board by developing interview protocols, assisting with logistics, and facilitating the interview process. Throughout the process, the members of the Central Bucks Board of School Directors retain sole responsibility for determining which candidates advance through each stage of the process and for selecting the district’s next superintendent.

A community forum to introduce the finalist candidate will be scheduled once the terms of a mutually agreed upon employment contract are reached and scheduled for consideration at a public meeting of the Board of School Directors.
