Central Bucks Police Log: DUI Arrests, Harassment & More

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department recorded the following incidents and arrests during the month of May.
May 3
A 37-year-old Chalfont woman attempted to cash a fraudulent check using illegally obtained identification documents at the drive through lane of Univest Bank in Chalfont Borough. Police responded and located the woman driving on Butler Avenue near Tamenend Avenue in New Britain Borough. Police attempted to conduct a car stop when she drove off at a high rate of speed, swerving in and out of traffic. Police abandoned pursuit for public safety. The woman wound up in Warrington Township where she crashed the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The woman, who had numerous outstanding warrants, was arraigned on charges and sent to Bucks County Jail on $150,000 bail.

May 4
A 61-year-old Doylestown woman was charged with two counts of harassment and three counts of disorderly conduct following a neighbor dispute involving a political flag on S. West Street in Doylestown Borough. The woman allegedly harassed a neighbor over the course of several weeks by yelling obscenities, looking in and banging on a window and threatening to fight if the flag was not removed. She was charged after she admitted it an email to throwing dead leaves and branches in her neighbor's mailbox. A criminal complaint has been filed.

May 5
A 49-year-old Maryland man was identified through video footage as being responsible for stealing a display iPhone at the Staples store at 436 N. Main St in Doylestown Borough in March 2015. He was charged with theft.
May 6
A 35-year-old Doylestown man was charged with driving under the influence after he was caught driving the wrong way on a one way street, police said. The man smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slow motor skills, authorities said A criminal complaint has been filed.
May 7
A 47-year-old Jamison man was charged with reckless endangerment and false reporting in connection with traffic incident on April 12 on Butler Avenue in Chalfont Borough. During the initial police response, the man said he slammed on his brakes to avoid a car turning. Video footage showed the man passing the vehicle in a no-passing zone and slamming onto his brakes, purposely causing an accident. A criminal complaint has been filed.
May 8
A 16-year-old female teen from Chalfont was charged with underage drinking after police observed her with a group and in possession of a bottle containing an alcoholic beverage on South Main Street in Doylestown Borough. A citation was filed.
A 28-year-old New Jersey woman was charged with public drunkenness after she was foudn walking in the middle of the street with an open alcoholic container. A citation was filed.
May 9
A 22-year-old Doylestown man was charged with public drunkenness after police witnessed him under the influence, screaming and cursing, pushing several people and becoming irate at Chambers Bistro, 19 N. Main St. A citation has been filed.
A 31-year-old Southampton man was charged with public drunkenness at Printers Alley and East State Street in Doylestown Borough.
May 10
A 40-year-old Upper Black Eddy woman was charged with drug possession after police responded to 625 N. Main St. on April 14 for an unwanted person no longer able to pay their hotel bill. Illegal drugs were found in the woman's room, police said. She was transported to Doylestown Hospital for medical attention. A criminal complaint has been filed.
May 11
Officers were called to Something Else at 31 W. State St in Doylestown Borough for a male subject who stole a pair of grey pants and fled. Police located the 47-year-old Philadelphia man walking down Main Street wearing the stolen pants with the tag still attached. He was charged with retail theft and released.
May 12
A 20-year-old Ambler man was charged with theft and receiving stolen property following a fraud investigation. In February 2021, the man opened a bank account at Provident Bank in Doylestown Borough followed by suspicious activity resulting in fraudulent transactions totaling $6,450, police said. The man turned himself in on an active warrant on May 12.
May 13
A 45-year-old Chalfont man was charged with driving under the influence at Main Street and Wisler Avenue in Chalfont Borough. Police were assisting a disabled vehicle when the Chalfont man's vehicle drove by, emanating a strong odor of marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted and field sobriety tests administered, during which the man admitted to smoking marijuana while driving, police said. A criminal complaint has been filed.
May 15
A 38-year-old Warminster woman was charged with DUI and obstruction following a traffic stop for traveling the wrong way on West State Street in Doylestown Borough. The woman smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes, police said. She failed field sobriety tests and refused a blood draw. Due to her refusal, police charged her with DUI as well as obstructing administration of law functions. A criminal complaint has been filed.
A 45-year-old Doylestown man was charged with DUI following a traffic stop at 143 E. Butler Ave. in Chalfont Borough.
A 23-year-old Souderton man was charged with disorderly conduct outside Siren Records at 25 E. State St. after police observed him urinating in public.
May 16
A 22-year-old New Jersey man was charged with disorderly conduct after he was observed urinating in public at 12 N. Main St in Doylestown Borough.
A 25-year-old North Wales man was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop for speeding at South Main Street in Doylestown Borough.
May 17
A 19-year-old New Hope man was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal conspiracy for repeated incidents of harassment. On April 19, following a brief encounter at Wawa gas pumps, the man followed the victim home flashing lights, revving his engine and nearly causing an accident. When arriving at the residence, the man blocked the victim's vehicle and the other occupants began yelling and cursing at the victim. A criminal complaint has been filed.
May 20
Around 11:30 a.m., police responded to Univest Bank in Chalfont for a report of a bad check. Officers arrived to find a 60-year-old man at the counter attempting to cash a check belonging to another account holder. The teller became suspicious when the man couldn't answer basic questions regarding the account. The man was arrested and found to have multiple forms of false identification and credit cards in his possession. While in custody, police learned the man had multiple warrants from other local police departments. He was arraigned on forgery charges and sent to Bucks County Jail on $225,000 bail.
May 21
A 22-year-old Doylestown man was charged with public drunkenness after police observed him staggering down the sidewalk and get sick at 19 N. Main St., Doylestown Borough.
A 21-year-old Doylestown woman was cited with an ordinance violation for having an open container and scattering rubbish at West Court and Lafayette streets in Doylestown Borough.
May 22-23
Twelve people were charged with disorderly conduct in Doylestown Borough after they were observed urinating in public during separate incidents.
May 22
A 23-year-old Pipersville man was charged with public drunkenness after police observed him sitting on steps to a business asleep with his head tucked into his shirt.
May 23
A 21-year-old Jamison man was charged with public drunkenness after police observed him getting sick while sitting on the steps of a business on North Main in Street Doylestown Borough.
May 25
A 23-year-old New Jersey man was charged with defiant trespassing on the Delaware Valley University campus after being found on the property despite a former citation for trespassing.
May 28
A 48-year-old Doylestown man was charged with criminal mischief after officers responded to Chambers Bistro in Doylestown Borough for a physical altercation. The man was told to leave the business, at which time he resisted and broke a glass door, police said. A criminal complaint has been filed.
A 27-year-old Jamison man was charged with driving under the influence after traveling the wrong way on a one-way street in Doylestown Borough.
A 21-year-old Warrington woman was charged with public drunkenness on North Main Street in Doylestown Borough.
May 29
A 54-year-old New Jersey man was charged with public drunkenness after police responded to a domestic incident at the Pina's Pizza parking lot in Chalfont Borough.
A 23-year-old Sellersville man was cited for disorderly conduct for urinating in public in Doylestown Borough.
May 30
A 22-year-old Churchville man and a 21-year-old Jamison man were cited for urinating in public in Doylestown Borough.
May 31
A 33-year-old New Jersey man was charged with receiving stolen property stemming from an incident that took place on Jan. 24. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a U-Haul truck traveling with its tail lights out. An investigation revealed that the truck had been reported stolen and the man's license was suspended. A criminal complaint has been filed.
