DOYLESTOWN, PA — A Central Bucks School District student has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, officials said Thursday. The student attends Titus Elementary.

"Household contacts are undergoing diagnostic evaluation, and we await test results for these patients," a notice to the school community said. Close contacts of the student will be personally notified, the district said.

The student is under the care of a physician. The condition of the student was not released, nor was their grade.

"As you can imagine, this is a difficult time for this family. Now more than ever, we need to treat one another with care, understanding, and respect," Superintendent John Kopicki said in the letter to the school community.

Central Bucks School District officials said they are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, and are working with the Bucks County Health Department.

During a news conference Thursday, Bucks County officials said there were 14 coronavirus cases. Five positive tests were reported Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon.

In Pennsylvania, there have been 185 COVID-19 cases and one death.
