'Dark Morning In America': Congressional Candidate Reacts To Loss
Ehasz lost her bid to unseat incumbent Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick in Tuesday's election.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Democratic candidate Ashley Ehasz, who campaigned to unseat incumbent 1st District Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick in Tuesday's General Election, has reacted to her loss.
"It's a dark morning in America, and Brian Fitzpatrick has a responsibility to stand up for our democracy and the hundreds of thousands of women he represents to protect our freedoms," she wrote in a statement. "As a combat veteran who put my life on the line for our country, I will always fight for our democracy and to secure equal rights for all of us."
With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, the unofficial numbers from the Bucks County Board of Elections show Fitzpatrick with 56 percent of the vote and Ehasz with 43 percent. Here are the unofficial numbers:

Fitzpatrick, who was first elected to Congress in 2018, declared victory early Tuesday morning after the Associated Press projected him to be the winner in his race against Ehasz, a West Point graduate, U.S. Army veteran, and former Apache helicopter pilot.
Ehasz, of Bensalem, made Roe Vs. Wade and a woman's reproductive freedoms, a cornerstone of her campaign.
