"Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is with deep disappointment that we have canceled the 2020 Thompson Performing Arts Series at the C&N Amphitheater in Central Park," the announcement said.
The concerts regularly draw numbers "in excess" of what is permissible for group gatherings under current health guidelines. "The safety of our guests, volunteers, staff, and performers is our top priority," Parks and Recreation Department officials said.
