DOYLESTOWN, PA — An end-of-year fundraising campaign has resulted in $1.7 million in donations to Doylestown Health.

The total was collectively donated as part of Doylestown Health Foundation's year-end fundraising efforts and the One Vision campaign, which includes renovations and investments in technology, equipment, expansion and programming.

Hospital officials credited the Della Penna family of Doylestown for matching donations and encouraging others to support their fundraising efforts.

"The partnership and support of the Della Penna family is a source of great pride for us," Laura Wortman, Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Doylestown Health, said in a news release. "We are so grateful for their support, and that of our entire community. Together they demonstrate what makes Doylestown Health unique. The inspiring community response to the Della Penna Challenge Match, our year-end fundraising efforts, and the One Vision Campaign is consistent with the extraordinary things we have seen throughout this year, and we are truly humbled by the generosity we have received.”

When the coronavirus pandemic arrived in April, the Della Penna family donated $100,000 to the hospital's charitable foundation. The family is also responsible for the Carol and Louis Della Penna Pediatric Center at Doylestown Hospital, which was established in 2014 with a leadership endowment gift.
