Doylestown Hospital Recognized For Championing Organ Donations
HAP designated Doylestown Hospital with "platinum" award status in recognition of awareness efforts during National Donate Life Month.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) has honored Doylestown Hospital for championing organ, eye, and tissue donation within the hospital and the community.
HAP designated Doylestown Hospital with a “platinum” award status in recognition of awareness efforts during National Donate Life Month, including trainings, campaigns to register new organ donors, community events, and public communications.
“Our Doylestown Hospital Associates and medical staff have seen first-hand the impact of organ donation,” said Doylestown Health President and CEO Jim Brexler. “More than 6,500 Pennsylvanians need a life-saving organ transplant, and one donor can save up to eight lives and enhance up to 75 others; we were honored to participate in a program that brings greater awareness to the opportunity to save a life.”

The annual campaign encourages Pennsylvania hospitals to increase organ, eye, and tissue donation awareness within their hospitals and communities. HAP partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the two organ procurement organizations serving Pennsylvania — the Center for Organ Recovery & Education and Gift of Life Donor Program — to support the challenge.
“HAP commends Pennsylvania hospitals and our partners for their terrific work to support and raise awareness about organ donation," said HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings. "The level of participation in the challenge demonstrates the commitment and dedication hospital teams have for the health of their communities. Increasing the number of organ, eye, and tissue donors is critical to helping hospital teams save and improve lives.”
