DOYLESTOWN, PA — Effective Dec. 1, Doylestown Hospital has implemented a restricted visitor policy due to COVID-19.
With a few exceptions, the hospital is not allowing visitors for inpatients or outpatients. One support person is allowed for a patient in maternity, two parents/guardians for a patient pediatrics and one support person for outpatients with a significant cognitive disability.
The new policy follows recommendations from the Pennsylvania State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the hospital said in a statement.

The restrictions come up as Bucks County reports a record number of COVID cases and deaths during Thanksgiving week. While local hospitals haven't reported any bed shortages, hospitalizations statewide are at their highest levels since the pandemic began, with more than 4,400 Pennsylvanians being treated.
