Doylestown Lions Club Launches GoFundMe As COVID Hampers Funding

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A 75-year-old nonprofit group in Doylestown is asking for the community's help to stay afloat.

Since its founding in 1945, the Doylestown Lions Club has supported a number of charitable organizations and efforts in the region, including the Bucks County Association for the Blind, the Delaware Valley Eye Bank, Habitat for Humanity and scholarships for special needs students.

The past year, however, has proved to be challenging, with gathering restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic hampering the organization's fundraising efforts.

The club is looking to raise $5,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to replenish its funds.

Other community service projects spearheaded by the organization include highway cleanup, building a pavilion for the local YMCA and providing funding to build the Sensory Trail at Central Park. The club is associated with Lions Club International, the world's largest service organization.
