Bucks Co. Woman, 28, Killed In Colorado Days Before Returning Home

Friends and family launch GoFundMe page to bring her home and to seek justice for the 28-year-old artist and Central Bucks graduate.

WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO — A 28-year-old Doylestown native was stabbed to death on Easter Sunday in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, just days before she had planned to return home, according to sources, including police and a GoFundMe established by her family.

According to police in Wheat Ridge, officers responded to the 3900 block of Sheridan Blvd. for a stabbing Sunday afternoon. Witnesses told officers two women were fighting in the area and that one woman had stabbed the other.

The victim, who has been identified by her family as Cali Frederico, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Family and friends said Frederico, who had just moved to Colorado a month earlier from Flemington, New Jersey, was preparing to spend the night at a hotel before a flight home on Tuesday.

In a GoFundMePage, her family said the Central Bucks High School graduate was removing valuables from her car when the incident happened.

Police in Colorado have taken Imani Tate, 47, into custody and will be recommending second degree murder charges.

According to the GoFundMe page set up by Cali's friends and family, Cali was a creative and loving person. She was a talented artist, with a natural ability to sketch and paint.

"Cali's death has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her," said her family. "Our world has been shattered, and our family will forever have a missing piece ... The person who did this must be held accountable and serve a sentence worth every laugh, smile, and embrace that they took from our Cali."

Funds raised by the GoFundMe Page will assist the family in returning Cali home to her final resting place, bringing her dog Gaia home, and ensuring the perpetrator of the crime gets the justice they deserve.
