Doylestown Turns Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness
For the month of October, five Bucks County municipalities will look a lot pinker.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Pine Street will once again become Pink Street as part of this year's Pine2Pink fundraising and awareness campaign to support local breast cancer patients.
The month-long initiative, organized by the nonprofit Pine2Pink foundation, has raised $111,500 to benefit local breast cancer patients and organizations since 2018, according to founder and executive director Keith Fenimore.
In the municipalities of Doylestown, New Hope, Carversville, Peddler’s Village and Perkasie, streetlamps will be refitted with pink lightbulbs. Local businesses will offer specialty items where proceeds of each purchase benefit the Pine2Pink Foundation.

While the coronavirus pandemic has made it a trying year for his organization, Fenimore says he is grateful for the support of 80 sponsors and partner organizations that have helped make the event possible.
"It's pretty humbling to see so many people come to the table to support a nonprofit like this," Fenimore said. "I'm just beyond grateful."

This year, the foundation is adding Fox Chase Cancer Center in Buckingham and Grand View Hospital in Perkasie to its 2020 fundraising initiatives, along with existing partner Doylestown Health. Perkasie is the newest municipality to join the campaign thanks to the help of Brittany Brown, a Perkasie resident and Pine2Pink volunteer, Fenimore said.
Fenimore says he has plans to bring on Newtown as part of the organization's 2021 campaign.
This year's initiative kicks off with a live stream from the center of Perkasie, Thurs., Oct. 1, at 7:15 p.m., in which Perkasie Mayor John Hollenbach will deliver a proclamation.
Local residents can participate in a virtual scavenger hunt by downloading the Pine2Pink app, which will be available Oct. 1. The virtual ribbons will reside at outside locations and various points of interest.
Other scheduled events include:
- "Pine2Pink Virtual Yoga and Fitness Fest" in association with Sun Dog Yoga and Barre3 Doylestown (October 3-4)
- "Conga Line Car Parade": Decorate your car and follow the last car in the line on a drive from New Hope, to Carversville, to Peddler's Village, Doylestown, Perkasie and finishing at Thompson Toyota 4 p.m. (October 10)
