Doylestown Winter Storm Emergency In Effect Until Snow Routes Cleared

With the worst of the weekend's snow still expected between Friday and Saturday evenings, the mayor declared an emergency Friday afternoon.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The mayor of Doylestown has declared a Winter Storm Emergency in the borough as of noon Friday.

Mayor Noni West said the declaration will stand for the duration of the storm, until snow emergency routes have been cleared.

Several car accidents had already been reported in the borough Friday morning. But the worst of the snow is expected to fall between Friday and Saturday evenings, according to the National Weather Service.

"Please do not park on a posted snow emergency route or you will be ticketed and may be towed," borough officials wrote.

The Bucks County Parking garages at Union and Broad, and East Court and Broad, will be open for parking without charge from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Monday, borough officials said.

Vehicles left in the garages after Monday morning will incur a $20 charge.

"Your cooperation will allow our plow crews to more effectively serve you," officials wrote online.

Tonight

Snow. Snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. Lows around 19. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph after midnight. Chance of snow 90 percent.

Saturday

Snow. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Blustery, cooler. Near steady temperature around 20. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 90 percent.

Saturday Night

Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow in the evening, then mostly clear after midnight. Little or no additional snow accumulation. Blustery, cold with lows around 10 above. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 50 percent. Wind chill values as low as 5 below after midnight.

Sunday

Sunny. Highs in the upper 20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Wind chill values as low as 4 below in the morning.
