DUBLIN BOROUGH, PA — Tim Hayes, a veteran of the Army National Guard, Dublin Borough Council President, and State Policy Manager for an environmental advocacy group, has announced his candidacy for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 143rd Legislative District.

Hayes, the youngest elected official in the history of Dublin Borough, said he will use his history of service and bipartisanship to combat high energy costs, high food prices, and to significantly invest in police, fire, and EMS departments.

"I'll work to expand our energy portfolio, which will spur in-state manufacturing and lower utility costs. I’ll help farmers resist these devastating tariffs, and protect their land and crops from pollution,” Hayes said. "I'll advocate for our police, fire and EMS companies to help them get the funding, resources, and manpower they need to stay afloat. The greedy corporations that are making health care and housing costs unbearable at the expense of working families, and the corporations that are destroying our communities' environment and energy grid with AI data centers will be held accountable.”

As council president, Hayes is credited with leading Dublin Borough to become one of the leading economic hubs of Bucks County, with tens of millions of dollars in projected private sector investments by the end of the decade.

Hayes also led efforts to invest in Dublin’s first responders, improve sustainability, reduce wasteful spending and bureaucracy, and upgrade infrastructure.

He authored a House bill to establish a workforce development program for veterans to work in clean energy, land conservation, water quality, and agriculture. And he assembled a bipartisan coalition of Democratic and Republican legislators, veteran groups, and environmental organizations to support its passage.

“I know how to get (things) done, and I know how to get (things) done well,” Hayes said. “The Pennsylvania General Assembly, as it currently stands, does not. Energy prices are skyrocketing, our transit system and schools are underfunded, our infrastructure is crumbling, our farmers are at risk of bankruptcy, and our volunteer fire departments are on the verge of becoming a paid service. As your state representative, I will work tirelessly to deliver the change we need.”

The 143rd House District includes Bedminster Township, Hilltown Township, Dublin Borough, New Britain Township (East and West Districts), Perkasie Borough, Plumstead Township, Sellersville Borough, Silverdale Borough, and Tinicum Township. The district is currently represented by Republican Shelby Labs.
