DUI Arrests, Assault Charges Reported By Police In New Britain Twp.

During the month of March, the New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during March:

March 3

  • DUI - In the evening hours a concerned member of the public called Bucks County Police Radio about an erratic driver on Sellersville Road. Responding members of the patrol division located the vehicle and observed the driver to be intoxicated. They were taken into custody and charged with DUI.

  • DUI - Members of the patrol division were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of South Limekiln Pike when they observed a vehicle with equipment violations. Upon speaking with the driver they were determined to be under the influence of a drug and they were subsequently arrested and charged with DUI.

March 16

  • ALTERCATION - Patrol responded to Suzy’s Lounge at 4677 County Line Road for the report of a fight. On arrival two individuals were located who had gotten into a physical altercation with one party sustaining injuries. An aggressor was determined and they were charged with related offenses.

  • RETAIL THEFT - Employees of the CVS at 1456 Ferry Road called to report a suspicious individual inside the store. A man was identified as trying to exit with a large amount of unpaid merchandise. They were taken into custody on related charges.
  • POSSESSION - While officers were on scene investigating the retail theft at the CVS on Ferry Road, an involved individual was located and found to have narcotics on their possession. They were identified and issued a summons for possession.
  • SIMPLE ASSAULT - Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Lenape Drive for a domestic disturbance. An offender was identified as having displayed a weapon and was charged with simple assault by physical menace.

March 27

  • ASSAULT - Police from Doylestown Township were dispatched to Doylestown Hospital for an individual suffering from injuries from a domestic disturbance. It was determined the assault occurred in New Britain Township and a suspect who was on scene was identified and arrested by New Britain Township Police. They are charged with related offenses.

March 29

  • ASSAULT - Bucks County Police Radio dispatched officers to a home in the 100 block of South Limekiln Pike for a fight in progress. Neighbors sharing an apartment style complex had gotten into a physical altercation resulting in injuries. The suspect was taken into custody on assault charges.

March 30

  • DUI - The patrol division was dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on Bethlehem Pike and Hilltown Pike. The driver was found to be intoxicated and lost control of their vehicle putting them into oncoming traffic. No one was injured and the driver was taken into custody for DUI. Police from Hatfield and Hilltown townships assisted.

During this tour, the Patrol Unit handled 12 traffic accidents, 40 alarm calls, 54 medical emergencies, 10 abandoned 911 calls, and 661 crime and traffic accident prevention directed patrols. In total, 377 calls for service were logged.
