2 Drivers Arrested, DUI Charges Pending In Plumstead Township
Police said one of the drivers was stopped for nearly causing an accident; the other admitted to having drinks earlier in the evening.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — DUI charges are pending against two drivers who were stopped for suspected DUI in Plumstead Township.

- Just after 10 p.m., the driver of a white Ford pickup truck was stopped by police near the intersection of Easton and Haring roads for nearly causing an accident. During the stop, police said the 32-year-old driver exhibited signs of impairment, including dilated pupils, glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of burned marijuana. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement tests were administered, which indicated impairment due to controlled substance consumption. The driver was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

- Just after 11 p.m., the driver of a blue Acura Integra was stopped by police in the parking lot of a business on North Easton Road. During the stop, police said the 52-year-old driver exhibited signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, glassy and bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech. Police said the man admitted to consuming drinks earlier in the evening. The officer administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. A Portable Breath Test was also administered, resulting in a positive reading. He was placed into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
