Feds Search Tranquil Oasis Spa After Prostitution Suspicions

After a "lengthy investigation," the Hilltown Township Police Department and other detective agencies raided the Bethlehem Pike spa.

HILLTOWN, PA — The Tranquil Oasis Spa at 1707 Bethlehem Pike was searched Tuesday under suspicion of prostitution and related criminal activity, police announced.

On Tuesday, the Hilltown Township Police Department and other law enforcement agencies including the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Network of Victim Assistance executed a search warrant at the spa.

"The investigation is ongoing and at this time no criminal charges have been filed against anyone associated with the business," police wrote in a news release.

Findings from the search are currently unknown to this news organization.

Federal authorities were there only in an assistance role, and not necessarily because any alleged federal violations had occurred at the business.

"The FBI routinely provides assistance to our local and state law enforcement partners, to include manpower and any additional resources necessary," Carrie Adamowski, a spokeswoman with the FBI's Philadelphia Field Office, told Patch.

Adamowski said that the Hilltown Township Police Department is the lead investigative agency handling the matter.

Similarly, the Hatfield Township Police Department, which was the only Montgomery County law enforcement agency involved in the raid that occurred in Bucks County just over the Montgomery County line, told Patch that it was merely there as backup as well.

"We were just in an assisting role there," said Police Chief William Tierney.

Hilltown police were assisted in the investigation by the Bucks County Office of the District Attorney, Bucks County Detectives, the Special Investigations Unit of the Bensalem Township Police Department, the Hatfield Township Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Crime Scene Unit of the Central Bucks Special Response Team, Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Air Marshal Service, and the Network of Victim Assistance.
