Firefighters Extinguish Car Fire, Save Doylestown Twp. House

Firefighters knocked down a car fire on Easton Road on Sunday and extinguished an exterior fire at a Doylestown Township home on Monday.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters in Doylestown had a busy few days, responding to a vehicle fire on Sunday afternoon and a dwelling fire on Monday afternoon.

The car fire erupted just before 4 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Easton Road in Doylestown Township. The call was upgraded due to the vehicle's proximity to a house.

Deputy 19 reported a well involved vehicle with no extension to adjacent structures.

Engine 79 and Tower 79 along with Engines 19 and 19-1 responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze. Crews operated for 30 minutes. There were no injuries reported.

On Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., firefighters responded to Steeplechase Drive in Doylestown Township for a dwelling fire.

Engine 19 arrived on scene and reported that the exterior side of a house was on fire. The assignment was upgraded by Deputy 19.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented extension to the interior, saving the house from burning. The fire was placed under control in 15 minutes with no injuries reported.

“We would remind homeowners to properly dispose of fireplace ash at a location away from the residence and in proper containers,” said the firefighters.

Assisting Doylestown with the calls were Warrington Township Emergency Services, Warrington Fire Co. No. 1, Midway Volunteer Fire Company, Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1, Lingohocken Fire Company, Chalfont Fire Company, Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services and Doylestown Township Police.
