DOYLESTOWN, PA — Central Bucks School District officials are asking for community input as it searches for its next superintendent.

The Bucks County Intermediate Unit, which assists public and private school districts in the county, is assisting the district in its search through a superintendent search survey. The school board is interested in hearing from the district regarding the strengths, challenges, goals and personal attributes that will help determine the right candidate.

The five-minute survey will be open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 6. All responses are anonymous and confidential.

Superintendent John Kopicki resigned from the position on April 2. While the reasons for his departure was not made public, Kopicki and board members faced pressure from parents who criticized the district for going against the advice of Bucks County Health Director David Damsker, who had recommended for a full five-day reopening of schools in September.

In Kopicki's place, the board appointed Abram Lucabaugh, the district's former assistant superintendent for secondary education, to act as interim superintendent while they search for new leadership.
