Home Health Worker Stole Gun, Jewelry, Wallet: Central Bucks PD

A home health care worker was arrested after admitting to stealing items from a residence in Chalfont Borough, police said.

CHALFONT, PA — A home health care worker was arrested Wednesday after admitting to stealing items from a residence in Chalfont Borough, Central Bucks Regional Police said.

Shirley Jean Moore, 53, of Trevose, faces felony charges of theft and theft by unlawful taking, according to court documents.

Home video surveillance shows Moore taking money from the victim's wallet. On a different date, she was seen stealing a jewelry box, a pair binoculars and a handgun, police said.

Additional items were found to be missing from the residence including rosary beads, women's wallets, perfume, five collectible music boxes, rolls of coins, men's clothing, food and personal hygiene products, according to police.

Moore turned herself in Wednesday afternoon, police said, and the handgun has since been recovered along with the stolen items.

She was arraigned and released on $100,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 16.
