Intoxicated Juveniles, Hospital Assault: Doylestown Twp. Crime Report

Police also charged a 75-year-old man with DUI and arrested a 33-year-old man for drug possession at Mercer Square.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — During April, the Doylestown Township Police Department handled 823 calls for service. Police issued 64 citations and 176 traffic warnings. There were also 35 accident investigations. The following are some of the incidents reported by police:

Narcotics

  • On April 24, a 33-year-old man was taken into custody for the possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the parking lot of Mercer Square Shopping Center.

Assault

  • On April 21, a 40-year-old woman was charged with aggravated assault for an incident that occurred at Doylestown Hospital.

DUI

  • On April 18, a 75-year-old man was charged with DUI and related offenses for an incident that occurred on Swamp Road at North Main Street.

  • On April 6, two juveniles were cited for underage drinking after they were found intoxicated in front of the township building.

Harassment

  • On April 1, an unknown man sent multiple harassing texts to a medical office. The case is still under investigation.

Theft

  • On April 16, several items were stolen from an unsecured locker at the Central Bucks YMCA.

Criminal Mischief

  • On April 15, a vehicle in the parking lot of Kohl’s Department Store sustained multiple broken windows. The case is still under investigation.

Fraud

  • The department investigated 12 fraud complaints during the month. Please remember that no legitimate organization will ask for payment through gift cards or crypto deposits. Residents are advised to use extreme caution when taking phone calls from those identifying themselves as computer representatives advising them of viruses on which they can assist. If you are unsure, contact the police department for assistance.
