Bucks County Community College’s Career Training Programs are designed to help adults living in Bucks County find their next career. Bucks’ offers four FREE* training programs ranging from 7 to 12 weeks both in-person and online.
Individuals enrolling in Bucks’ Career Training Programs are able to take advantage of learning a new in-demand craft or skill. Taught by industry experts, participants are matched with a career counselor who provides one-on-one services including resume writing and soft-skills trainings as well as placement services in our industrial skills programs. Choose from Bucks’ Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Program (7-weeks; online), Industrial Maintenance Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program (12-weeks; in-person), Metalwork Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program (12-weeks; in-person) or their Microsoft Office Technology and Customer Service Specialist Program (8-weeks; online). Bucks’ industry recognized Industrial Skills Training Programs boast a 90+% placement rate with students beginning careers after graduating averaging $20+/hour.
Career Training Programs will be offered FREE of charge to Bucks County Residents throughout 2022. People interested in the Programs are encouraged to visit www.bucks.edu/wfd for more information and to register for an online information session.
Bucks County Community College has partnered with the County of Bucks to provide these trainings free of charge to Bucks County Residents. Bucks maintains strong partnerships with the County, the Commonwealth, and the PA CareerLink in Bucks County to fund eligible participants in these exciting, skilled careers.
Bookkeeping with QuickBooks is a 7-week, accelerated online program designed to give participants experience with accounting, QuickBooks and Excel. Students will be taught by Industry Experts and will be matched with a Career Coach who will work with them on finding a career. Online Information Sessions will take place at 1pm on January 6th and January 11th. Training starts January 31, 2022.
The Metalwork Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program includes theory as well as hands-on skills training, and introduces participants to the fundamental concepts and skills required to be a machinist in the field of advanced manufacturing. Over 90% of students are placed in Careers with a salary range of $17-$20/hr. Online Information Sessions will take place at 1pm on January 13th and January 20th. Training starts February 14, 2022.
The Industrial Maintenance Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program includes theory and hands-on skills training and introduces participants to the fundamental concepts and skills required by electro-mechanical technicians in manufacturing and a variety of industries. Over 90% of students are placed in Careers earning on average $20+/hr. Online Information Sessions will take place at 1pm on February 17th and 24th. Training starts March 21, 2022.
The Microsoft Office Technology & Customer Service Specialist Training is an 8-week, online course designed to give participants the skills necessary to work effectively in any business environment with the perfect combination of technical and essential soft skills. Students will be taught by Industry Experts and will be matched with a Career Coach who will work with them on finding a career. Online Information Sessions will take place at 1pm on March 1st and March 3rd. Training starts March 28, 2022.
