Man Accused Of Aggravated Assault, Harassment At Doylestown Motel

Police allege the man also threatened to harm officers, their wives and their mothers while he was being processed at the police station.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A 41-year-old man is facing a slew of charges after police said he attacked a woman at a Doylestown motel and then threatened to hurt officers and their loved ones after his arrest.

Mark Tobey, 41, who has no fixed address, was charged Wednesday with felony aggravated assault, four counts of making terroristic threats, and harassment, among other charges, according to Bucks County court records.

An employee at the Mainstreet Inn called Central Bucks Regional police around 3:25 p.m. Wednesday after hearing an argument outside a second-floor room, court records state. The employee told police she saw Tobey shove a woman from behind, causing her to hit her head on a metal railing.

The woman told police that Tobey pushed her after accusing her of stealing his cell phone. She said she was “in fear for her life” because she did not know Tobey before the “completely unexpected attack.”

Tobey left the motel as officers were arriving but was detained nearby after running between several homes and hiding behind a car, court records state.

When asked to confirm Tobey was the man who pushed her, the woman said, “Hell yeah, that’s him,” according to court records.

Central Bucks Regional police then arrested Tobey and took him to the police station, where he “became increasingly belligerent and violent,” court records state.

Police allege Tobey threatened to harm officers, their wives and their mothers while he was being processed at the police station. He also allegedly kicked an officer in the groin while being handcuffed, according to court records.

Tobey was being held Friday in Bucks County Prison in lieu of $175,000 bail. He must post 10 percent of that amount to be released. Tobey did not have an attorney as of Friday afternoon to comment on his behalf.
