Man Charged In Assault On Security Guard: Doylestown Twp. Crime Report
Police reported the following incidents and arrests during May, including fraud cases, criminal mischief, and assaults.
DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township reported the following incidents and arrests during May:
Assault
- On May 17, officers responded to the parking lot of the Weis Market for a report of a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot. Through investigation a 44-year-old man was identified, and charges were filed via summons.
- On May 20, officers responded to a residence on Maple Drive for a domestic assault. A 46-year-old female was identified and taken into custody.
- On May 30, a 29-year-old man was charged for assaulting security at Doylestown Hospital.
Retail Theft

- On May 19, officers responded to the Giant Food Store for a report of a retail theft that occurred on May 4 and May 9. Through investigation, a total of $3,302.17 in items were identified as stolen. Doylestown Township Police were able to identify the suspect and a warrant was issued.
Fraud
- During May, there were five fraud investigations. Police remind residents to remember that no legitimate organization will ask for payment through gift cards or Bitcoin deposits. Residents are also advised to use extreme caution when taking phone calls from those identifying themselves as computer representatives advising them of viruses on which they can assist.
Criminal Mischief

- On May 19, officers investigated a report of criminal mischief at the construction area at Central Park. An excavator and a light pole were spray-painted.
Police handled 831 calls for service during May. There were 44 traffic accident investigations. Police issued 50 traffic citations and 125 traffic warnings.
