Man Shot In Doylestown Standoff Has Died
A 61-year-old man shot by police during a Feb. 20 standoff has died, the Bucks County District Attorney said.
DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A 61-year-old man shot by police during a Feb. 20 standoff in Doylestown Township has died, authorities said.
Thomas Edward Zeller was pronounced dead Sunday at Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is expected to perform an autopsy Monday.
Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub is reviewing the shooting, which is standard protocol for all police-involved shootings.

Zeller had been hospitalized since the shooting on Carriage Drive, which is in the Olde Colonial Greene neighborhood. The standoff began after police received a report of a man who was armed, upset, and damaging property.
When police arrived, officers found Zeller had barricaded himself inside a residence and a standoff began. Police attempted to negotiate with him but he was later shot.

The standoff prompted a shelter-in-place, which was lifted less than two hours later.
