New Britain Food Larder Volunteers Named Volunteers Of The Year
The Bucks County Opportunity Council named Dottie and Byron Rimmer, "Volunteers of the Year."

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Opportunity Council has named Dottie and Byron Rimmer its "Volunteers of the Year."
The pair have been running the New Britain Baptist Church Food Larder for the past 20 years.
The food pantry allows people to choose the items they need, rather than being given the same items each visit.

"Dottie, the larder’s coordinator, and her husband Byron were able to form close relationships with individuals and truly understand the needs of the community," the Council said in a statement. "The couple made participants feel comfortable coming to get food while also connecting them to other resources throughout the county."
The couple recently retired from the food pantry to spend more time with their family. In a statement, they said, "Food insecurity is in Bucks County, right in our backyards and keeping food local will help us feed our neighbors.”
