New Developments In Death Of Elderly Bucks Co. Woman: DA

The death is actively being investigated as a homicide by local police, Bucks County detectives and the DA's office.

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — New developments have come to light in the killing of an 89-year-old woman in Hilltown Township last week.

Anne Turner was found unresponsive by a neighbor at a home in the 2500 block of Rickert Road on July 10, 6 Action News reported. According to the Bucks County Coroner's office, said she had been shot in the chest and in the back. The coroner ruled the death a homicide.

The Bucks County District Attorney's office had scheduled a press conference for Friday afternoon concerning the death, but canceled the event a little more than hour before it was planned citing new developments in the case.

Patch reached out to the district attorney's office for comment about the new developments. "We can not say what the new developments are at this time," the DA's spokesperson said..

The death is actively being investigated as a homicide by the Hilltown Township Police Department, Bucks County Detectives and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

The Bucks County Coroner's office and the Crime Scene Unit of the Central Bucks Special Response Team are also assisting with the investigation.

When police arrived around 7:20 p.m. on July 10, they immediately began lifesaving measures. Turner was later pronounced dead by the Bucks County Coroner's office.

Police said at the time that there was no known threat to the general public.
