“While talking to children about abuse prevention can feel uncomfortable, these conversations are essential — and they need to happen more than once, ideally before kids hear inaccurate information from peers,” said Jamie Pfister, NOVA training coordinator. “Research shows that when parents and caregivers practice these discussions, they build confidence and make future conversations easier.”
Additional "Smarter Parent, Safer Kids" workshops will be scheduled throughout the year. For more information on future workshops, visit novabucks.org/events.
In addition, NOVA can facilitate free workshops for places of worship, parent groups, organizations or schools. For more information, contact Jamie at Jamie.Pfister@novabucks.org .
