Pet Photos With Santa Benefit Doylestown Shelter

Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center held a fundraiser to benefit A Woman's Place in Doylestown.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A Woman's Place, a nonprofit domestic violence shelter in Doylestown, received a $1,000 donation from Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center as part of a holiday fundraising event to benefit the organization.

The dog daycare program holds several fundraising events each year to benefit the community and pet-related non-profit organizations. Clients receive a special photo of their pet for a donation in the amount they choose.

Marianne Lynch, executive director of a Woman's Place, said the partnership helped bring awareness to domestic violence while creating an opportunity to capture the holiday spirit with pets.

"Pets can also be victims of abuse and many times survivors won’t leave a dangerous situation for fear of leaving their pets behind," Lynch said. "Holiday House has taken such a pro-active approach to bring awareness to both domestic and animal abuse through this successful fundraiser and we are grateful for it."

Dr. Laura Weis, co-owner of Holiday House and Doylestown Veterinary Hospital & Holistic Pet Care, said that supporting nonprofits is more important than ever.

"We had a wonderful opportunity to work with a client who is dedicated to spread joy at the holidays as Santa, to help others in the community," Weis said.

In addition to running a full-service shelter for victims and their children, A Woman's Place manages a confidential hotline and counseling services.
