Man Charged In Police-Involved Shooting In Buckingham
The 50-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges for burglary, aggravated assault, and criminal trespass, according to court documents.
BUCKINGHAM, PA — An armed Philadelphia man who crashed his car on a township street on Saturday and was then tased and eventually shot by police is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
According to court documents, William Campbell, 50, was arraigned Tuesday morning from his hospital bed by Judge Maggie Snow who set bail at $250,000, or 10 percent.
Campbell is charged with five counts of recklessly endangering another person, four counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, two counts each of burglary and possession of an instrument of crime, and one count each of aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, driving an unregistered vehicle, careless driving, and driving at unsafe speeds.

The incident began when Campbell was driving recklessly in the 4800 block of Redfield Road around 4 p.m. Saturday and crashed his van into a parked vehicle.
When residents came outside, investigators said Campbell aggressively pursued them with a weapon and chased them inside while shouting politically and religiously charged statements. The residents locked themselves in their home, investigators said.

When a Buckingham Police Officer arrived, Campbell went after him, investigators said. The officer fired a Taser, but it had no effect.
As Campbell continued to advance, investigators said the officer fired his weapon. The officer then rendered aid to Campbell, who was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police recovered two weapons from Campbell.
In accordance with county protocol, all police-involved shootings in Bucks County are investigated
by county detectives and reviewed by the District Attorney.
