Plumstead Police Log: Hit And Run, Property Thefts & More

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between May 17 and May 23, 2021.

May 17

At 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a domestic standby on McNeil Road. Officers remained on scene while personal items were retrieved from the residence.

At 1:28 p.m., a Plumstead Township resident contacted police to report a harassment complaint. The resident received multiple attempts of communication by a known, unwanted person. The incident is under investigation.

May 18

At 8:14 a.m., officers responded to a home on Applebutter Road after the resident reported a theft from items located on his property. The complainant said the items were removed sometime between Sunday and Monday morning. The missing items include a red 30" self-propelled Exmark lawn mower and Echo chainsaw valued at $2,100. At 10:22 p.m., officers investigated a call for a noise complaint in the Cross Keys Shopping Center. Officers were able to make contact with the person and mediate the complaint.

At 3 p.m., officers responded to a domestic standby on McNeil Road. Officers remained on scene while personal items were retrieved from the residence.

May 19

The Central Bucks Motor Carrier Safety Enforcement Team conducted a safety inspection detail in Quakertown Borough between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The team is made up of officers from the Plumstead Township Police Department, New Britain Township, Doylestown Township and Quakertown Borough police departments. During the detail, multiple citations were issued.

At 8:42 p.m., officers responded to the Colonial Village Motel on North Easton Road for a reported domestic assault. Claudio J. Hernandez, 36, of Doylestown, was taken into custody by responding officers. The victim was flown to Temple University Hospital for treatment.

May 20

At 6:49 p.m., officers investigated a call for an unwanted person on Captain Molly Circle. The resident stated that an unwanted person was attempting to make contact with her at her residence. The unwanted person's identity was confirmed and he was advised to stop contacting the resident.

May 21

At 8:45 p.m., officers investigated a hit and run crash in the parking lot of a business on Point Pleasant Pike. A minor dent and scrape were observed on the vehicle that was hit. The identity of the driver who left the scene is under investigation.

May 22

At 7:23 p.m., officers checked on the well-being of a woman on Rinker Circle who was showing signs of danger to herself. The S.T.A.R. program was explained and offered, and consent was signed to participate in the program. Referral was sent to an outpatient treatment center for evaluation.

May 23

At 6:50 a.m., officers investigated a traffic accident on North Easton Road for a vehicle that hit a utility pole. Officers arrived on scene to find the driver had left the vehicle. A witness gave a description of the driver and officers were able to identify the man walking away from the vehicle along the roadside. Officers gathered information from the driver and the incident is under investigation.

At 11:30 a.m., Plumstead Township Police Officer Jeffrey Moffett, who is part of the Bucks County Homicide by Vehicle Task Force, responded to York Road and Lemon Road to assist Warminster police with a two-vehicle crash investigation.
