DOYLESTOWN, PA — A crowd numbering in the hundreds jammed the streets and sidewalks in the heart of Doylestown Saturday afternoon to send a unifying "Hands Off" message to Washington, D.C., and the Trump Administration.

The Bucks County protest was one of more than 1,000 "Hands Off" events that took place around the nation supported by Indivisible, the League of Women Voters, Human Rights Campaign, the Service Employees International Union, among others.

The Doylestown event included remarks by Doylestown Borough Mayor Noni West, Democratic candidate for Sheriff Danny Ciesler, Democratic candidate for District Attorney Joe Kahn, former Central Bucks School Board member and education expert Tabitha DelAngelo, musicians Honest To Betsy and Yuri Gohen, and others.

"The Central Bucks community showed up in force today," said rally spokesperson Larissa Hopwood, who estimated the crowd at about 1,500 people. "The peaceful, yet abundant crowd had a unified message: ‘Hands Off!’ Between the speeches, music, signs and chants, the attendees were fired up about protecting the rights of our community."

The crowd at times blocked sections of Court Street, jammed the courtyard and the entrance to the Bucks County Administration building and spilled onto the sidewalks on all sides of the Broad Street, Main Street, and Court Street intersection as traffic passing by honked its support.
