Roof Of Perkasie Office Building Collapses Under Weight Of Snow

The roof of the former Delbar Products building, which is under construction, caved in at around 7 p.m. Saturday.

PERKASIE, PA — The roof of a vacant office building in Perkasie Borough collapsed under the weight of heavy snow on Saturday night, dealing significant damage to a property that was previously poised for redevelopment.

Firefighters from Perkasie and Sellersville boroughs were dispatched to the former Delbar Products building at around 7 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 7th and Spruce streets. They arrived to find a portion of the building's roof collapsed due to heavy snow buildup.

The downtown Perkasie property, which has been vacant since 2008, is being renovated into 90 high-end apartments and 10 townhouses.

The 3-acre site is the former headquarters of Delbar Products, a now defunct automotive mirror manufacturer.
