DOYLESTOWN, PA — A person is in custody after a shelter-in-place order was issued Sunday afternoon in Doylestown due to an armed barricade near a commercial area, authorities said.

Police confirmed in an email blast around 4:45 p.m. that a person had been taken into custody and there was no threat to the public.

"The SRT team was called in to assist and the situation is under control," Central Bucks Regional police said in the message.

No one was injured, according to borough officials.

The barricade was in the area of 5 Broadale Road, borough officials said in a post on X shortly before 4 p.m. The address is just blocks from Mercer Square mall and Doylestown Shopping Center.

"Police are dealing with an Armed barricaded subject," the post said. "If you live in the immediate area, please shelter in place. Swat Team & negotiators are en route to assist. We will repost when the situation has been resolved."

The Central Bucks Regional Police Department had issued the shelter-in-place order and instructed those who received it to “lock all doors and move to a central and secure location away from windows.”
