NEW BRITAIN, PA — The New Britain Civic Association and New Britain Borough are developing a Master Site Development Plan for Covered Bridge Park and Orchard Park to plan for future improvements and renovations to the parks.

Since 1957, the nonprofit civic association has owned and operated the 14.7 acre Covered Bridge Park. Tucked away along Pine Run Creek in the borough, the park features a playground, a picnic pavilion, a soccer/baseball field, a gazebo and a pond.

In 2013, New Britain Borough purchased 5 and a half acres of land adjacent to Covered Bridge Park to create Orchard Park, which is intended for lower impact recreation. The park includes a community garden, an orchard, woods and wetlands. Click here to read the 2016 Orchard Park Strategic Plan.
