Unami Middle School Wins Central Bucks Softball Championhip
The game marked Unami Softball's sixth consecutive championship game appearance, winning the past three.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — For the third season in a row, Unami Middle School’s eighth grade softball team has won the Central Bucks School District’s softball championship by defeating Tohickon Middle School, 8-7.
Pitcher Ellie Im went the distance, recording nine strikeouts and earning the complete game victory. Aubrey Griffin scored two of the team's runs and due to her strong play, timely hitting and two runs scored, Emily Alfaro was selected as the team's player of the game.

Playing in the Bucks County League’s Northern Division and under Unami teacher Scott Fischer (18th season) and assistant coach Nicole Boyer (second season), the team, in a rain-shortened season, compiled an overall record of 7-1, outscoring their opponents, 61 to 31, earning another winning season.
Additionally, in his 18th non-consecutive season, head coach Fischer, of Chalfont, ended the season with 134 career wins. He has taught social studies at Unami Middle School for 30 years and also previously had coached for seven years as part of the local Lenape Valley softball program. Both coaches are looking forward to coaching next year’s team.
