Voter Advocacy Group Calls For More Drop Boxes In Bucks County

Bucks Voices, a voter engagement group, will deliver a petition for additional drop box locations in Bucks County to the Board of Elections.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks Voices, a voter engagement group, will deliver a petition for additional drop box locations in Bucks County to the Board of Elections.

The group, accompanied by eight “dancing drop boxes” and the Ocean Avenue Stompers, a New Orleans style brass band, will depart from the Salem United Church of Christ at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and arrive at the Bucks County Courthouse at noon.

They will present the petition with 850 signatures to County Commissioner Bob Harvie, who chairs the Board of Elections.

More than 57,000 voters applied for mail-in ballots in the May 18 primary, which had a higher-than-normal turnout (about 25 percent) for an off-year primary election.

There are currently four drop box locations in Bucks County, while Montgomery County has 11, Chester County has 13 and Delaware County has 44 locations.
