Walking Tour To Explore Doylestown's Historic Places Of Worship

The tour is part of "Doylestown Celebrates USA 250," which is offering a unique opportunity to step inside the town's historic buildings.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Historical Society invites the public to explore the rich history and architecture of the borough during a special walking tour of four revered places of worship.

The "Tour of Doylestown's Historic Places of Worship" will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. as part of the "Doylestown Celebrates USA 250" initiative, which is offering a unique opportunity to step inside buildings that have been central to the Doylestown community for
nearly 200 years.

The featured locations on the tour are:

  • Doylestown Friends Meeting (1836): 95 East Oakland Avenue
  • St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1846): 84 East Oakland Avenue
  • Doylestown Presbyterian Church (1871): 127 East Court Street
  • Salem United Church of Christ (1897): 186 East Court Street

Attendees are invited to explore all four locations at their leisure and in any order. Each stop will feature an overview of the building's history, guides to highlight points of interest, and refreshments for visitors. Presentations will begin on the hour and halfhour, running from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
