Warrington Man Accused Of Strangling Woman Saturday In Doylestown

A neighbor kicked open the door to a nearby apartment after hearing screaming and saw a man choking a woman inside, police allege.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A Warrington man is facing multiple charges after police alleged he choked a woman early Saturday morning in Doylestown.

Andrew Bunce, 27, was charged with a felony count of strangulation and a misdemeanor count of simple assault after Central Bucks Regional police were called just before 3 a.m. Saturday to a downtown apartment building, according to Bucks County court records.

A resident of the building heard screaming and banging coming from a nearby apartment early that morning but no one answered when she knocked on the door, Central Bucks Regional police said in court filings.

After getting no response, she kicked the door open and saw Bunce on top of a woman, who later told police that Bunce put his hands around her throat, according to court records.

Bunce was released from Bucks County Jail after posting 10 percent of his $100,000 bail, court records show. He is due to appear in court Sept. 20 for a preliminary hearing.
