Warrington Man Sentenced For Indescent Assault Against A Child

The 46-year-old man will serve 23 months in prison and has been ordered to pay $1,900 in fines.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Warrington Township man will serve time in prison after pleading guilty to indecent assault against a child in 2024.

Jose Mestanza Ortiz, 46, was sentenced in March to 23 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $1,900 in fines.

In July 2024, Warrington Police responded to a report of an indecent assault in the 2200 block of Pileggi Road. The incident involved a child under the age of 13. Upon arrival, officers interviewed
the juvenile victim, who reported being inappropriately touched by an adult man while visiting a relative.

Police subsequently identified the man as Ortiz. The child's mother was immediately notified and arrived at the scene to take custody of the child.

Following an investigation and based on evidence and witness testimony, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Ortiz. He was taken into custody on August 9, 2024, and charged with indecent assault and corruption of a minor.

Ortiz was arraigned before Judge Wertman, who set bail at $900,000 or 10 percent cash. He was then transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
