Whole Foods Market Hiring For Doylestown Store As Opening Nears

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The new Whole Foods Store at the Barn Plaza on Route 611 is hiring in advance of an early spring opening.

The store has posted help wanted ads seeking full- and part-time team members at its new Doylestown location, which has been under construction since 2023.

According to the job posting, the grocery store chain will be seeking to fill positions throughout the store from prepared foods, bakery and customer service to the meat, produce and grocery departments.

Interviews are scheduled for the last week in January with training of new hires expected to begin in late February in advance of an early spring opening of the store.

Construction began in 2023 to transform the former Marshall’s and HomeGoods space at the Barn into the new retail spaces - Whole Foods Market and a Barnes & Noble store.

The new Barnes & Noble opened last September. The opening date of the new Whole Foods, however, has been a matter of speculation until now.

In anticipation of the two new stores, Brixmor, the owner of the shopping center, gave the Barn Plaza a multi- million-dollar facelift last year and announced two new redevelopment projects at the center.

Brixmor is replacing the former 5,000-square-foot Applebee’s restaurant with a multi-tenant building that will include three new restaurants. The new building will be slightly larger than the former Applebee’s.

Among the new tenants will be a Chipotle Mexican Grill and First Watch, a Florida-based daytime dining concept serving made-to-order breakfast, brunch and lunch items.

Brixmor will be returning to the planning commission and the board of supervisors in the near future with a more extensive redevelopment application for the former Barn Plaza cinema.

Brixmor will be seeking to demolish the former Regal Cinema and its landmark silos and replacing it with four new multi-tenant buildings that will house restaurant, retail, and medical office uses.

Regal closed its Barn Plaza cinema in early 2023 after the nationwide movie theater chain declared bankruptcy and began shutting down theaters across the nation.

At the former Regal site, three new one story buildings are envisioned - 7,600 square feet of medical office space, 24,000 square feet of retail space, and 9,000 square feet of restaurant space.
