Wismer Road Bridge Reopens In Plumstead Township
PennDOT's contractor replaced the 88-year-old, single-span, steel I-beam bridge, with a single-span, concrete box culvert.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Construction has been completed on a project to replace the Wismer Road bridge over Hickory Creek in Plumstead Township, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The bridge and roadway reopened at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Wismer Road bridge, located between Ferry Road and Carversville Road, had been closed since work began on the project in late September 2024.

The bridge is one of several structures in Bucks and Montgomery counties that PennDOT is rehabilitating or replacing under a $9.5 million project.
Loftus Construction, Inc. of King of Prussia is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
