$1.5 Million Award in Deadly Easton DUI Crash

James Black, convicted of killing two people in Easton in 2008, must pay victims families $1.5 million.

A former West Easton man who killed two people in a DUI crash in 2008 must pay $1.5 million to the familes of his victims, according to published reports.

James Black was ordered to pay that award by a Northampton County jury Thursday morning, the Morning Call reported.

Black had been drinking before driving when he killed Patrick Petti and Barbara A. Warren in a crash on Route 611.

The same jury cleared the Riverview Country, where Black had been drinking before the crash, of responsibility in the crash, according to the Express-Times.

Black, 40, pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle and was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison, according to court records.
