Sports have a way of teaching invaluable life lessons — building character, fostering teamwork and strengthening the bonds within a community. In the Easton area, these values have shaped some truly remarkable athletes from different eras, whose accomplishments continue to inspire.

Patch has teamed up with T-Mobile to spotlight five standout athletes whose achievements have left a lasting mark on our community. While this list is just a snapshot, there are countless others who have helped shape the rich sports culture in our area.


Chanelle Price (Track & Field)

Standout middle-distance runner Chanelle Price attended Easton Area High School, where she was named High School Athlete of the Year. She competed in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials before attending the University of Tennessee, where she won two SEC 800m titles. Price became the 2014 World Indoor Champion in the 800m and went on to win six gold medals in international competition. She is an advocate for mental health, a mentor for young athletes and a member of St. Luke’s Sports Medicine’s Community Ambassador Program.

Erica Prosser (Basketball)

Erica Prosser is a graduate of nearby Lehigh University (Class of 2011) and was instrumental in leading the school’s women’s basketball team to back-to-back Patriot League championships in 2009 and 2010. She was named Patriot League Player of the Year in 2009 and 2011, a three-time First-Team All-Patriot League selection, and the Defensive Player of the Year in 2011. Prosser helped guide Lehigh to 94 wins over her four-year career, with two NCAA Tournament appearances. She later played professionally overseas and was named to the Patriot League’s 25th Anniversary Team. She was inducted into Lehigh’s Hall of Fame in 2024 and is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of Illinois.


Jordan Oliver (Wrestling & MMA)

Jordan Oliver is one of the most decorated wrestlers in Easton Area High School history. He set a state AAA record with 175 wins and won three Pennsylvania state championships by the time he graduated in 2008. Oliver became a two-time NCAA champion and four-time Big 12 champion at Oklahoma State and later earned multiple international medals when he represented Team USA in freestyle wrestling. He has since transitioned into professional mixed martial arts and competes in the featherweight division.

Steve Aponavicius (Football)

Steve Aponavicius was a walk-on kicker at Boston College who became the all-time leading scorer in program history. Originally a soccer and baseball player at Easton Area High School, he had never played competitive football before Boston College. He gained national recognition after debuting in 2006 against Virginia Tech, earning the nickname "Sid Vicious" for his clutch performances. He later kicked a game-winning field goal in the 2006 Meineke Car Care Bowl and finished his career with more points than any other Boston College player.


Susan Sachs (Multi-Sport Athlete & Advocate)

Susan Sachs was a trailblazer for women’s sports during the early days of Title IX. During her time at Lehigh University (Class of 1977), she was a co-captain for the women’s basketball and softball teams while also competing in field hockey and volleyball. Sachs was instrumental in advocating for equal funding, facilities, and uniforms for female athletes. After her collegiate career, she built a successful media executive career at Time Warner, working on Time, Fortune and Sports Illustrated for Kids. She now serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for Common Sense Media.
